Located in the central Sydney district of Waterloo, and area with tremendous cultural heritage and creative energy, Sydney Film School is housed in a spacious warehouse only minutes away from excellent transport links. In addition to providing teaching, rehearsal, and student common areas, the Sydney Film School premises afford students the opportunity to design and build large film sets in a production studio, and watch films in a 100-seat cinema.

Post production facilities at Sydney Film School include 10 dedicated edit suites running Avid Media Composer, Final Cut Pro HD, After Effects, Mbox with Pro Tools, and DVD Studio Pro on Apple iMac and MacBook Pro. Students will also edit productions using Steenbeck flat bed edit tables (16mm & 35mm) and Magna-tech audio dubbing machines in a fully equipped film editing facility.

Budgets allocated to projects can also pay for the hire of other specialised equipment as required (ie Red One w/Red lenses, Arriflex 416, Arriflex SR3 production kit, Ziess Ultra 16mm lense kit, DSLR D5 & D7 cameras, Canon digital lense kit, Scrim frames, Additional Blacks, HMI lighting, Sennheiser radio mics, Zaxcom location sound mixer, car camera-attachment kit, underwater camera housing, Jib arm or camera crane etc).

Sydney Film School houses a resource and reference library which includes an extensive collection of local and international audio visual materials, industry journals and reference books.
